Radiographic Testing (RT)
Radiographic inspection is used extensively on castings and weldments, particularly where there is a critical need to ensure freedom from internal flaws.

This method is suitable for metals and a variety of other materials. Our mobile darkrooms enable us to develop x-ray film on site and provide the customer with archival – value film.
Mobile X-ray Darkroom rig:

Team Services has six mobile darkroom units fully
equipped to handle any size project. Each unit is equipped to perform
Radiography, Ultrasonic, Magnetic particle, Liquid penetrant and Visual
inspections. Team services has (8) Iridium 192 units, (1) Co 60 unit, (12)
ultrasonic units (Krautkramer, Sonatest, Panasonic) and (10) Magnaflux
Magnetic Particle Units.

worth of inspection work performed at various power plants in last few
years), (319) 269-3913 Cell Number (319) 521 6630
ARCHIVAL-VALUE FILM
Archival value film is a term commonly used to describe the keeping quality of X-ray film. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) defines it as “those storage conditions suitable for the preservation of photographic film having permanent value.” Archival storage is not defined in years by ANSI, but in terms of the thiosulfate content (residual fixer) permissible for storage of radiographs.
Although many factors affect the storage life of radiographs, one of the most important is the residual thiosulfate left on the radiograph after processing the film.
Archival value film can be achieved by using a automatic film processor, but this is not practical while performing radiography “out in the field.”
TEAM Services has developed a process in our mobile darkroom lab which will guarantee archival value film while using manual film development. Other testing laboratories can only achieve this by using a automatic processor which means returning to their shop to develop the film; this is very time consuming and substantially cuts down on productivity.
Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Ultrasonic flaw detection performed by trained and certified technicians will detect defects located in the weld or base metal materials. This inspection will detect cracks, slag inclusions, incomplete fusion or penetration. UT is very reliable and sensitive to the detection of defects.

New UT Testing Machine:

Ultrasonic Thickness Measurements
Thickness surveys can be conducted to locate areas of excessive wall thinning and generate baseline data for future surveys used to determine pipe wall thinning rates.

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
The test material is magnetized and the magnetic field “leaks” from the surface or sub-surface discontinuities. This attracts magnetic particles applied to the material, identifying the location and size of the discontinuity.

Fluorescent magnetic particles with a black light increase the sensitivity of the examination.
Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
The surface of the test material is saturated with dye that seeps into discontinuities. The developer acts as a blotter to assist the natural seepage of the penetrant out of the surface openings. This method is used on nonporous metals and other materials.

Fluorescent penetrant increase the sensitivity of the examination.
Visual Testing (VT)
American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspectors (AWS CWI)

A complete walk down of the entire line or system will be conducted to locate defects such as cracks and leaks as well as broken, topped out or bottom out hangers.
Verify piping pressure tests, torque tests and instrument calibrations.
Perform fit up and weld profile inspections.
Welder
Certification
Procedure Qualification
On site welder certification and procedure
qualification tests to:
AWS, ASME, API, ANSI, Military
We will come to your facility to work with your welders, supervisors and engineers on your welding needs.
Welder certifications and procedure qualifications in carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, sheet metals and exotic metals are obtainable. Tests can be given in SMAW, SAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, Soldering and Brazing.
