SPECIAL INSPECTION

An important part of construction today is assurance of code compliance, especially in terms of the Special Inspections mandated by the International Building Code.

The County or City Building Inspector does not have the time or equipment to conduct as thorough an inspection as we do. Plus, Building Inspectors are experts on the Building Code, we are experts in concrete, steel buildings and structural masonry, and we have the knowledge and training that certifies that expertise, that's why the Building Department requires special inspections for certain projects.

The Building Department will let you know what Special Inspections are required by them or the Architect/Engineer. Special inspections do not need to be initiated by the Building Department. You can contact us to perform a special inspection on your project, in order to protect your investment from problems that occur months or years after it is completed.

As Inspection Agent, our qualified inspectors visit the project site and prepare inspection reports, including deficiency reports, for review by the Special Inspector. Deficiency reports are followed by a second inspection to assure project requirement compliance.

As the designated Special Inspector, we provide inspection and testing agents to provide full inspection and testing services for specific construction projects. These services include, in addition to the inspection services, compilation of the agents' reports, periodic distribution of reports to the project Owner, Contractor, Code Enforcement Official, and, if requested, the Architect. At the completion of construction, we will prepare a Final Report of Construction Inspection, required for issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy.

Structural Steel Welding - fabrication shop review, field erection, connection inspection, and field modification review,

High Strength Bolting - test bolting assemblies using the Skidmore Wilhelm Model MS Bolt Tension Calibrator, which allow us to verify that fasteners meet minimum bolt tension specifications, impact wrenches are properly calibrated, tension-control fasteners sheer off at the correct tension, bolting crews understand how to achieve proper tension in all types of fasteners and have the right installation tools and equipment,

TEAM Services provides special inspection and structural testing for private, commercial, public works, and government related construction throughout Iowa and surrounding states. Our inspectors have the ability and knowledge to meet all your Special Inspection needs.

Our Special Inspectors are trained and certified by the I.C.C, ACI, NICET or DOT to ensure that your project is built per plan and with quality materials. Our in-house training far exceeds the industry standard and provides our client with highly skilled Inspectors who can assist in most circumstances.

We also concentrate on cross-training our staff for multiple disciplines, which affords the greatest continuity of inspection possible, since one individual is then capable of servicing most project inspection needs.
